Formwork planning and execution

  • Plan and manage formwork activities according to project requirements and construction schedules.
  • Review formwork drawings, method statements, and construction sequences.
  • Select suitable formwork systems and plan materials, manpower, equipment, and resources.
  • Coordinate execution teams for smooth and timely formwork operations.
  • Monitor erection, alignment, leveling, shuttering, de-shuttering, and shifting activities.

Material and resource management

  • Plan and monitor the availability and utilization of formwork materials.
  • Maintain inventory and records for formwork materials and accessories.
  • Minimize material wastage, damage, and unnecessary handling.
  • Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for timely material availability.
  • Optimize manpower and equipment utilization.

Coordination and technical support

  • Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, site engineers, QA/QC, safety, planning, and subcontractor teams.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams on formwork-related technical issues.
  • Resolve site-level formwork problems and provide practical engineering solutions.
  • Participate in project review meetings and report formwork progress.

Productivity and cost control

  • Monitor formwork productivity and achievement of project targets.
  • Track formwork cycle time and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Control costs related to manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Develop methods to improve efficiency and reduce cycle time.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and productivity.

Key skills and competencies

  • Strong knowledge of RCC construction and conventional, modular, aluminium, steel, climbing, table, and specialized formwork systems.
  • Strong understanding of formwork drawings and construction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of construction safety and quality standards.
  • Strong manpower and subcontractor management skills.
  • Planning, coordination, problem-solving, communication, and leadership ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts under tight timelines.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, and construction or project management tools.

Education and experience

  • Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech. in Civil Engineering is essential.
  • Additional certification or training in formwork, scaffolding, construction safety, or project management is preferred.
  • The role requires 10-15 years of relevant experience in formwork and RCC construction.
  • Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or precast projects is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience managing large formwork teams and multiple construction fronts is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is identified as required in the structured education field.

Compensation

  • Pay is ₹1,200,000-₹1,800,000 per year.
