Manager, Emergency Management Services

Role Overview

Major Responsibilities

• Lead emergency, severe weather, and business continuity plans and support departments with risk, critical function, and recovery planning.
• Assist with incident command, Crisis Management Centre activation, communications, and recognised Gold, Silver, and Bronze command structures.
• Oversee Security Command Centre readiness, emergency communications, alarms, incident notifications, and escalation systems.
• Develop and deliver training for operational leaders, duty managers, and team members and coordinate drills, simulations, and multi-agency exercises.
• Manage and develop the Command Centre team through hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Build relationships with emergency services, local authorities, and Local Resilience Forums.
• Support post-incident reviews, audits, assurance activities, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.
• Follow Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in Emergency Management, Resilience, Security, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating incident response and emergency planning activities.
• A recognised UK or internationally recognised security accreditation, or the ability to attain one.
• Strong understanding of UK emergency response frameworks and multi-agency working.
• Experience working with or alongside emergency services and local authorities.
• A bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related security field is preferred.
• Experience in large, complex, guest-facing environments is preferred.

Operational Requirements

• Ability to operate effectively under pressure and during live incidents.
• Flexible working is required, including support during major incidents and events.
• Must be available on demand to manage security threats and respond to emergencies or tactical situations 24 hours a day.
• High computer literacy and ability to analyse security reports, operational data, and performance metrics promptly.
• Demonstrated project management ability, including management of multiple high-priority projects and deadlines.
• Deep understanding of security principles, current UK threats, and vulnerabilities.
• SIA license and OSH or NEBOSH are preferred.

Work Environment

• The role supports a resort, Security Command Centre, live incident response, emergency services coordination, and operational events.
• The role involves frequent handling of sensitive or controversial matters.
