Lead design, development, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise data models for business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and data-driven decisions.
Work with business stakeholders, data architects, engineers, and analytics teams to ensure data is structured, integrated, governed, and optimized.
Key responsibilities
- Lead conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and maintain standards, methodologies, naming conventions, and best practices.
- Translate business requirements into models and design scalable structures for warehouses, lakes, and analytical platforms.
- Ensure models support BI, reporting, analytics, and operational needs; review and approve models developed by other teams.
- Define data relationships, entities, attributes, keys, hierarchies, and business rules; align models with enterprise architecture and governance.
- Optimize existing models, coordinate implementation with Data Engineering, and support data consistency, accuracy, integrity, and traceability.
- Maintain model documentation, definitions, metadata, and lineage; lead projects and manage priorities, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship; evaluate new modeling approaches, technologies, and practices.
- Ensure models comply with organizational policies, security requirements, and applicable regulations.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, data warehousing, or a related field.
- Strong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and hands-on experience with relational databases, warehouses, and analytical platforms.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT, data integration, and data governance.
- Experience with ER/Studio, SAP PowerDesigner, or similar data modeling tools.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions.
