Manager, Data Governance

Role overview

Typical work

• Translate program strategy into executable plans, roadmaps, and delivery priorities.
• Coordinate intake, planning, and execution across multiple concurrent data governance initiatives.
• Facilitate governance forums, working groups, and decision-making sessions.
• Track progress, dependencies, risks, and outcomes; partner with leadership to remove delivery friction.
• Embed data governance-by-design principles, standards, and controls in business processes and technology workflows.
• Support executive reporting and program metrics.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Governance, Information Governance, Records Management, Compliance, or a related field.
• PMP designation and/or strong program or project management background.
• Experience managing enterprise programs, initiatives, or data governance processes.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and operating models, such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, NIST, or ISO.
• Experience facilitating discussions and building relationships across diverse stakeholders.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving; able to manage competing priorities and influence without direct authority.
• English is required for national and global client interactions.

Preferred qualifications

• A related bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred.
• DCAM, DAMA, IAPP, ARMA, or AIIM certification is preferred.
• Microsoft Purview, M365, Informatica, or related platform experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of the intersection of data, records, content, knowledge, privacy, and AI governance is preferred.
• Experience with organizational change and adoption or federated governance models is preferred.

Team

Compensation and rewards

• Salary range is CAD 85,000–156,000; employees may also be eligible for a bonus program.
