The Maintenance Technician supports effective operation of mechanical and electrical plant in a food manufacturing workplace.
The role requires relevant M&E experience in manufacturing and the ability to work as part of a team and take instruction.
Workplace
- The role is based in the UAE and involves on-site plant and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive maintenance for equipment on site.
- Hand over machinery appropriately after preventive maintenance or breakdown work.
- Maintain hygienic equipment conditions during maintenance.
- Follow health, safety, and standard preventive maintenance practices and complete required paperwork.
- Perform engineering-related housekeeping and cleaning duties.
- Review and improve systems with the manager.
- Ensure all work complies with company SHEQ requirements.
- Record and report maintenance work and track spare-parts inventory and usage.
- Complete tasks promptly and work with limited supervision.
- Inform the food safety team about equipment changes and food safety risks involving utensils or equipment.
Knowledge and experience
- Three to five years of experience maintaining food-processing plants and equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety, mechanical and/or electrical systems, record keeping, fault analysis, and basic food hygiene and safety.
- Teamwork experience; supervisory experience and control of subordinates are also listed.
Skills and qualifications
- M&E training and a recognized technical qualification or trade experience.
- Understanding of MEP equipment, health and safety, and supervision.
- The qualification section states three to five years of experience or an equivalent degree.
- Capability to use computer software such as Microsoft Office.
