Role overview

Compensation

• Pay is $18.20 per hour, with applicable shift premium and a bonus of up to 3%, capped at 150%.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines for job changeovers, start up and shut down equipment, and load daily production files.
• Select and split files, run jobs, and inspect the first four cards at each startup.
• Produce quality cards on schedule while minimizing scrap and maximizing productivity.
• Select correct data and specifications; count and balance cards before and after personalization.
• Record machine readings and Document Control Number checks; complete production reports and close jobs in SAP and BOWE 1.
• Replace supplies, match plastics and carriers, and run remakes using the correct embossing sequence.
• Maintain clean, orderly machinery and work areas; back up other machines and assist with assigned projects and duties.
• Follow environmental, health, and safety policies and report hazards, incidents, and concerns.

Qualifications and skills

• One to three years of manufacturing machinery experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, ability to multitask, and ability to work independently or on a team.
• Basic mathematics, including balancing a job, and basic computer knowledge.
• High school diploma or some post-secondary education is preferred.
• Able to work overtime and switch shifts when required.

Working conditions

• Work takes place on a production floor; safety shoes and a smock are required, and ear protection may be needed.
• Physical duties include lifting up to 30 pounds, standing for long periods, and extended screen and card-text inspection.
