The Machine Operator – Joinery is responsible for operating woodworking machinery to produce high-quality joinery products such as doors, cabinets, furniture, and fittings. The role requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to read technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate woodworking machines such as cutting machines, edge banders, CNC machines, panel saws, and routers
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood components accurately
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and project requirements
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report any faults or breakdowns
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Assist in loading/unloading materials and finished products
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet production targets
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a machine operator in joinery or woodworking industry
- Knowledge of woodworking machines and tools
- Ability to read drawings and use measuring instruments
- Basic knowledge of materials such as MDF, plywood, laminate, and solid wood
- Good physical condition and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Working Conditions:
- Work in a factory or workshop environment
- May involve standing for long hours and handling heavy materials
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
