Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence Engineering Internship – Summer 2027

Program Overview

Potential Role Work

• Help build ML solutions and tools for mobile and embedded machine learning platforms.
• Collaborate with researchers and software developers on state-of-the-art ML technologies.
• Design, develop, and test software that makes ML models smaller and more efficient for edge devices.
• Projects may involve AI infrastructure, distributed inference, compiler technologies, runtime systems, GPU acceleration, model serving, and performance optimization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or PhD program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Be available for 11 to 14 weeks during Summer 2027, from May through September.
• Have an expected graduation date of November 2027 or later.
• Have 1+ years of programming experience in C, C++, Python, or similar languages.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD enrollment is preferred.
• Preferred areas include deep learning, ML frameworks, neural-network programming, compiler frameworks, parallel computing, AI infrastructure, GPU programming, and ML optimization.
• Additional preferred backgrounds include ML research, data pipelines, computer vision, NLP, audio or speech processing, and wireless communication.

Internship Program

• Interns receive mentorship, project and team support, professional development workshops, social events, and speaker sessions.

Potential Locations

• Internship opportunities may be available in Austin, Boulder, Boxborough, Bridgewater, Chandler, Irvine, New York City, Louisville, Raleigh, San Diego, Santa Clara, and Seattle, depending on team and project needs.

Compensation

• The posted pay range is $17.00 to $98.00, with no compensation cadence stated.
