The Logistics Specialist supports AWS data center operations by managing computer hardware parts throughout their lifecycle.
The role works with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to support reliable repair activities and operational safety, security, and availability.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain inventory and stock levels; receive, store, pick, issue, and deliver parts for build and repair activities.
- Coordinate inbound shipments, site-to-site transfers, outbound shipments, and reverse logistics.
- Maintain safe, organized workspaces and support process improvement, automation, standardization, and performance reporting.
- Conduct cycle counts, monitor inventory metrics and SLA risks, and process failed parts and Failure Analysis shipments.
- Travel across Melbourne-area sites to assist with stock receipt, replenishment, cycle counts, and defective-stock returns.
Basic qualifications
- Valid driver's license with access to a personal vehicle for daily use.
- At least 2 years of shipping and receiving, inventory, and warehousing practices experience.
- At least 2 years of logistics experience.
Preferred qualification
- At least 1 year of team leadership experience is preferred.
Work setting and physical demands
- Work includes data center, office, and warehouse environments with low to moderate noise.
- Duties involve loading and unloading, prolonged standing, sitting, and walking, and frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and kneeling.
- The role may require moving objects up to 16 kg and participating in group lifts of 20 kg or more.
- Travel between sites in the Melbourne metro area requires personal transport; travel-related costs are reimbursed.
