Primary responsibilities
- Keep pool surroundings clean, tidy, and organized, and supervise the pool area throughout opening hours.
- Maintain compliance with pool regulations, enforce rules, warn swimmers about unsafe practices and hazards, and keep pool and adjoining areas orderly.
- Assist guests, provide information about pool operations, and provide towel service.
- Monitor pool activity to prevent accidents and identify problems in pool or beach operations; report incidents to a supervisor or manager.
- Maintain daily logbook reports and inspect facilities for cleanliness; complete general pool cleaning and maintenance.
- Test chlorine content and pH with a water testing kit and record readings.
- Teach swimming lessons and arrange pool exercise and activities such as water polo and water volleyball.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Fitness Center Manager or Front Office Manager.
Job requirements
- At least 3 years of lifeguard experience; 5-star hotel experience is preferred.
- Valid lifeguard licence or certification from an approved authority.
- Strong knowledge of lifeguarding, surveillance, water rescue, First Aid, and CPR.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Good decision-making and emergency-response skills.
- Physical fitness, alertness, and a professional, well-groomed presentation.
- Friendly, polite, and guest-service-oriented approach.
Position information
Position is at Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi in the Health and Wellness division.
