Legal Counsel will join an established oil trading business and report to the General Counsel.
The role supports a broad range of commercial, operational, and corporate legal matters.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate oil trading contracts, general terms and conditions, charterparties, and commercial agreements.
- Advise on legal matters related to oil trading, shipping, and trade finance.
- Support disputes, arbitration, litigation, and contractual claims.
- Assist with legal risk management, compliance, and development of standard documentation.
- Support corporate governance, entity formation, and shareholder matters.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of legal experience in private practice or in-house.
- Qualified in a common law jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of English law.
- Experience in oil trading, commodities, shipping, or maritime law.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment.
