Overview

The appointee will be expected to carry out the following activities:

1.

Develop and conduct lectures, tutorials and practical teaching sessions and supervise students working in teams in one or more specialized areas of Physiotherapy (cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal and/or health promotion and professional issues).

Candidates who are versatile across content specific areas will be highly considered.

2.

Help in supervising and coordinating the practice education of students

3.

Assist course coordinator in following up and grading of student assignments

4.

Contribute to the stakeholder engagement within the professional community in support of teaching, research and professional development

5.

Contribute to various committees at the program, College, and University level

6.

Participate in the research activities of the Department

7.

Assist in various other tasks related to the development and needs of the Department

Qualifications

Essential qualification and experience

1.

Be a qualified physiotherapist eligible for registration to practice in her/his country and a member of his/her professional organization

2.

A PhD (for lecturer) or Master’s degree (for TA) in a relevant specialization to the vacant position from a reputable university.

3.

Completed the master’s degree or higher following a full-time system

4.

A cumulative GPA in the last degree of no less than 3.5 out of 4 or its equivalent according to Qatar University

5.

At least two (2) years’ experience of official teaching relevant to physiotherapy after obtaining the highest degree.

6.

Excellent written and oral communication, as well as interpersonal skills

7.

Excellent organizational skills

8.

For the lecturer position, the candidate must have at least two (2) papers in peer-reviewed publications, preferably after the PhD degree.

Desirable skills and experience

1. Arabic speaker (preferable)

2.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical practice

3.

Experience

in clinical/practice education development, organization and delivery

4.

International teaching experience including working in culturally diverse environments

5.

Licensed to practice in Qatar with Department of Healthcare Professions (or eligible to obtain license to practice in Qatar).

6.

Publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals preferably published after obtaining the last degree

7.

Teaching and/or clinical experience in cardiopulmonary PT, musculoskeletal PT, neurology or health promotion is an asset

In addition, the letter can briefly describe any research accomplishments, including peer-reviewed publications, as well as any academic achievements, professional contributions, or relevant clinical experience.

A current Curriculum Vitae that clearly indicates the candidate’s current position, providing a detailed timeline of educational background, academic and professional experience, and any research accomplishments.

3.

Three referees’ contact information (email addresses as well as their telephone contact).

4.

Copy of highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where coursework was completed.

However, if no course work was completed, a copy of certificate letter from the Registrar regarding your highest academic degree).
