Lead UX Designer

Job purpose

Design and delivery

• Understand, model, prototype, design, and iterate interfaces for existing and new complex airline application software using end-user feedback, ISA standards, recommended methodologies, and tools.
• Work with technical staff and clients in different locations to understand software problems and resolve them.
• Plan, organize, and manage tasks; provide feedback to junior design team members.
• Resolve design-related customer complaints and suggest improvements and enhancements.
• Demonstrate software to stakeholders with the development team.
• Coordinate workload and assignments with the team lead and work in agile environments.
• Provide regular task status updates and escalate as necessary.
• Educate team members in design, design techniques, tools, and methodology.
• Support continuous learning about technologies relevant to ISA development.

People management

• Provide direction, coaching, and guidance to team members for career and professional development.
• Build and sustain an engaged, committed, performance-driven team environment.
• Handle people-management responsibilities in line with company procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and improve professional and personal skills in support of company goals.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Fluent in English.
• At least 6–8 years of experience as a User Experience Designer using current methodologies and technologies.
• Strong understanding of clients and their business models.
• Able to collaborate with a team and handle more than one project at a time.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Design knowledge and tools

• Knowledge of design systems, user research, usability testing, interaction design, design methodology, techniques, and design tools.
• Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator, and prototyping tools such as UXPin and InVision.
