Sheet Metal Certifying Technician (Sharjah, UAE)

Job purpose

Key responsibilities

• Prepare for, perform, and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance using task cards, approved data, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee assigned technicians, resolve technical issues, and provide on-the-job guidance.
• Review task cards with the engineer or supervisor to confirm scope, documentation, priorities, and safety precautions.
• Inspect aircraft and rectify defects using approved maintenance data.
• Record maintenance actions, test results, defect rectification, and parts usage in the Maintenance Information system.
• Ensure shop inventory is available, compatible, and ready for operational needs.
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and operational teams for task continuity and safe handovers.
• Enforce safety rules, maintenance procedures, and human factors principles.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Control resource usage, minimize waste and repeat work, and optimize material and repair costs.
• Support operational teams across the airline and third-party customers.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Structural/Airframe discipline), or equivalent technical discipline.
• Four years of experience maintaining aircraft structures and structural parts; Airbus experience is preferred.
• Fabrication, inspection, and task documentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of airframe systems, repair techniques, approved maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Company-issued aircraft structure Certifying Authorization, or related training with skills proficiency in lieu of certification, is preferred.
