Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead CMDB architecture and implementation; define CI, service, application, relationship, lifecycle, ownership, and governance models.
• Develop architectural views, CSDM-aligned data models, integration designs, decision records, standards, and technical specifications.
• Guide teams, review technical work, promote upgrade-safe out-of-the-box capabilities, and support architecture governance, testing, and deployment.
• Design ingestion, identification, reconciliation, health, certification, attestation, remediation, security, and lifecycle practices.
• Troubleshoot complex CMDB, discovery, service-mapping, and integration issues; shape roadmaps and mentor colleagues.

Required qualifications

• CSA and Certified Implementation Specialist – Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM), or current equivalent ServiceNow certification.
• 5+ years of ServiceNow solution or technical architecture experience, including substantial enterprise CMDB architecture.
• Track record leading end-to-end CMDB designs and complex enterprise-scale implementations.
• Deep ServiceNow CMDB, CSDM, platform architecture, governance, health, security, and data lifecycle knowledge.
• Experience with Discovery, Service Mapping, Service Graph Connectors, IntegrationHub ETL, APIs, and related ingestion technologies.
• Deep Identification and Reconciliation Engine knowledge, including rules, source precedence, and multi-source patterns.
• Experience integrating CMDB with ITSM, ITOM, Security Operations, Asset Management, or related capabilities.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and GlideRecord; Agile and Waterfall delivery and full SDLC experience.
• Understanding of ITIL configuration management, privacy, security, change/release, testing, and audit requirements.
• Strong communication, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills; Microsoft Office and Visio proficiency.

Beneficial qualifications

• ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, ITOM, or Asset Management implementation experience and related certifications are beneficial.
• Azure, AWS, or Microsoft 365 certifications are beneficial.
• ServiceNow Developer experience and CMA, CTA, or other relevant CIS credentials are beneficial; developer experience is not required.

Compensation

• Salary range is $85,000–$156,000; bonus-program participation may also be available. No salary cadence is stated.
