Lead Process Engineer- Facilities Development

Position Overview

Compensation

Responsibilities

• Establish study objectives, technical requirements, and engineering bases for facilities development opportunities.
• Lead in-house engineering studies, feasibility assessments, and conceptual design activities.
• Evaluate alternative engineering solutions and recommend technically and commercially viable concepts.
• Oversee external studies conducted by engineering service contractors and consultants.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary assessments, including process simulations, conceptual P&IDs, and long-lead equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop CapEx and OpEx estimates.
• Develop economic evaluations, sensitivity analyses, and supporting models to assess concept viability.
• Prepare technical study reports, supporting documentation, and engineering recommendations.
• Develop and present ODP gate presentations for Gate 1 (Identify), Gate 2 (Assess/Concept Select), and Gate 3 (Sanction).
• Make occasional offshore and onshore facility visits for technical discussions, site assessments, and scope definition.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 15 years of process and chemical engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
• At least 10 years of experience in facilities development, feasibility studies, and conceptual engineering design.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas production facilities, process engineering, and engineering study methodologies.
• Practical experience with process simulation software, particularly Aspen HYSYS and PIPESIM.
• Experience developing engineering calculations, economic models, and sensitivity analyses; Microsoft Excel is preferred.
• Project lifecycle exposure from conceptual design through FEED; detailed engineering experience is preferred.
• Brownfield facility modification experience is advantageous.
• Excellent technical report-writing, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Location and Site Visits

• The position is based in Dubai, UAE.
• Occasional visits to offshore and onshore facilities are required.
