Hands-on Kubernetes Platform Engineer / DevSecOps Lead focused on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, securing, and optimizing production environments.
Kubernetes Day 2 operations are the most critical requirement; the role is not primarily focused on building deployments or CI/CD pipelines.
Role location is Abu Dhabi, UAE. Candidates may be based in the UAE or India; India-based candidates must be willing to relocate.
Platform operations and security
- Administer and troubleshoot production Kubernetes clusters, including control planes, nodes, pods, networking, DNS, ingress, storage, scheduling, and resource issues.
- Perform upgrades, incident management, root-cause analysis, backup and recovery, and performance optimization.
- Manage RKE2, Rancher Manager, and Harvester HCI, including cluster lifecycle, RBAC, high availability, virtual machines, networking, and Longhorn storage.
- Implement container security, vulnerability management, SBOMs, image signing, secure registries, secrets management, CIS hardening, and policy-as-code.
- Administer and harden Linux servers; maintain monitoring, logging, secure CI/CD, GitOps, deployment automation, rollback, and recovery.
Mandatory qualifications
- Advanced hands-on production Kubernetes administration, troubleshooting, and Day 2 operations experience.
- RKE2 installation, configuration, lifecycle management, and troubleshooting; Rancher Manager setup, administration, upgrades, and support.
- Harvester HCI deployment, virtualization, storage, and platform administration experience.
- Software supply chain security, Linux administration and scripting, monitoring, logging, CI/CD, and GitOps expertise.
- Strong incident response, root-cause analysis, cluster recovery, and ability to resolve complex issues independently.
Tools and preferred skills
- Named tools include Trivy, Cosign, Kyverno, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK/EFK, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, Rancher Fleet, Helm, Terraform, Ansible, Bash, and Python, or equivalents.
- Preferred: CKA/CKS certifications, NVIDIA GPU Operator and GPU-enabled Kubernetes, Istio, AWS EKS, Azure AKS, hybrid cloud, and enterprise high-availability platform experience.
