Lead DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure on Amazon Web Services.
• Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Create, maintain, and optimize Helm charts for application deployments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Implement monitoring and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack.
• Manage container images and registries such as ECR and Docker Hub.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams for smooth deployments.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, EKS, IAM, VPC, and RDS.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including pods, services, ingress, and namespaces.
• Experience writing and managing Helm charts.
• Proficiency in containerization using Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code; Terraform is preferred.
• Familiarity with Linux or Unix systems.
• Scripting knowledge using Bash, Python, or Shell.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EKS.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
• Understanding of security best practices, including IAM and secrets management.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD are advantageous.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
