Lead Commissioning Engineer

Role overview
Plans and directs engineering, technical support, testing and commissioning, inspection, and handover of fire and life safety systems.
Coordinates with the Commissioning Manager and works to company quality and customer-care standards.
Commissioning and compliance
- Plan and control project testing and commissioning; ensure contract and project requirements are covered and implemented.
- Develop work plans and commissioning procedures and ensure the team follows them.
- Ensure compliance with QCDD regulations, NFPA standards, codes, permits, and quality, health, safety, and environmental systems.
- Keep daily activity logs and reports for local authorities.
Engineering and coordination
- Review shop drawings and project documents for completeness against specifications and contracts.
- Coordinate with main-office engineering teams on panels, calculations, schematic diagrams, shop drawings, and cause-and-effect matrices.
- Provide system design, configuration, and complete customer solutions; coordinate maintenance and other services.
- Contribute to engineering and automation reporting and root-cause analysis.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years' experience in fire and life safety systems in a commissioning environment.
- 5+ years of GCC experience is preferred.
Certifications and technical skills
- UPDA engineering registration certificate and QCDD certified fire engineer qualification.
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 101; fire systems manufacturer certification such as Carrier Fire System, EST3, EST4, Xtralis, or AP Sensing.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Primavera, and advanced computer-office tools.
