The role is also responsible for collaborating with other technical teams to assess the opportunity, while ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy, to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
General Responsibilities
- **Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems**
- Ensure the compliance of organization's policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls in line with group delegation of authority policy so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while consistently delivering quality and cost-effective service.
- **Reporting**
- Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with HQ and business policies and standards.
- Provide support in the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
- Comply with organization requirements in a timely manner.
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Provide inputs in the budgeting exercise and prepare draft performance indicators (e.g. revenue, growth targets, etc.) for assessing the growth of business development opportunities. Periodically monitor the projects against set indicators, analyze trends, update forecasts and highlight variances to senior management.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a prospect database including information on projects, strategic roadmaps, costs, and expected returns across different markets, both locally and globally.
- Assist and conduct market assessments and technical analysis to evaluate both, organic and inorganic growth prospects, such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, or other business development opportunities locally and internationally, to support in expansion of Generation business unit in new areas, regions, and markets.
- Provide assistance in developing business proposals by identifying technical considerations and leveraging technical knowledge.
- Assist in the development of investment dossiers, projects and initiatives identification and prioritization plans. Assist in the preparation, analysis, submission, and presentation of investment plan memoranda to evaluate the viability of projects and initiatives for the investment committees, finance, and strategy departments.
- Support EPC, O&M and technical workstreams from project initiation until closing. Assist the team in identifying optimal technical/EPC solution and support in preparation of detailed O&M budgets.
- Develop investment proposition assessment reports for senior management to understand investments’ technical feasibility and business risks and facilitate decision-making.
- Coordinate with internal teams to conduct technical due diligence to support strategic decision-making. Coordinate with other departments like technical excellence and engineering, operations, asset management, etc. on resolving queries regarding business development plans.
- Provide support to create and maintain strong relationships with technical advisors and OEM/EPC community for equipment and construction sourcing.
- Provide support in coordination with the technical team of Generation to design the technical and commercial set up of the projects.
- Support the routine collaboration with all business partners (Human Capital, Supply Chain, IT, Finance and Legal) to co-deliver defined key performance indicators (KPIs) in line with the overall business plan and assumptions.
- Stay updated on global trends and best practices in business development and collaborate with the stakeholders in due diligence and negotiations. Propose and implement innovative strategies to capture new market opportunities.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant working experience in business development or project management
