Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Handle laytime calculations and manage demurrage and dispatch claims.
• Review charter party agreements and shipping documents, including NOR and SOF; verify documentation and calculation accuracy.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve claims and discrepancies, and analyze claims for accurate, timely settlement.
• Monitor laytime-related costs and support cost control.
• Communicate with chartering teams, shipowners, operators, and other relevant stakeholders about claims and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with charter party terms and applicable shipping procedures; maintain accurate claim and calculation records.
• Identify documentation discrepancies and work toward timely resolution.
• Support the shipping operations team in managing claim-related activities efficiently.

Requirements

• Prior experience in laytime calculations, demurrage, and dispatch claims.
• Good understanding of charter party agreements, NOR, and SOF.
• Knowledge of shipping documentation and marine or logistics operations.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, communication, stakeholder coordination, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to interpret shipping documents and charter party terms accurately and manage multiple claims and deadlines.
• Proficiency in relevant shipping documentation and laytime calculation tools is an added advantage.
