Landscaping and Agriculture Manager

About This Role

Job Purpose: The Landscaping and Agriculture Manager combines aesthetics with functionality in addition to creativity in leading designing and executing soft- and hardscape upkeep and maintenance plans that meet client needs and requests, while considering environmental impact at site. He should be well acquainted with fruit trees, plantation, agriculture, fertilization, harvesting, landscaping activities and irrigation systems.

Job Requirement:

• Design Landscaping scope of work including but not limited to work schedules, resources allocation, machinery selection, pest management programs, etc.
• Interpret drawings and develop actions accordingly
• Define Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for landscaping projects and establish project execution timelines
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations related to landscaping, irrigation and pest treatments
• Mobilize landscaping green field projects, including snagging and commissioning
• Manage botanic asset management through ERP
• Propose and execute improvement of deteriorated landscapes and turnaround
• Define irrigation requirements according to category and season
• Manage landscaping contractors’ performance and foster capability development
• Monitor seasonal changes, their impact on soft scape and initiate remedial actions
• Interact with multiple stakeholders with focus on achieving common goals
• Act as the SME in the field and provide advice and guidance to Facilities Management teams
• Manage and supervise all aspects of landscaping for one or more sites including the following:
• Soft Landscaping Services - grass, plants, palms, fruit trees, planting mediums, fertilizers and other related chemicals
• Hard Landscaping- pathways, patios, sitting areas, planters, fire pits, rock gardens
• Fertilization, fruiting trees and agriculture
• Irrigation System- Drip, sprinklers, surface, semi auto
• Artificial Grass – Installation of Artificial Turf
• Propagation facility
• Design and implement Landscaping Service Operations Manual, including upkeep plan, quality control measures and walkthroughs
• On-site quality inspection and control to ensure optimum landscaping conditions and compliance with agricultural best practices.
• Attend to complaints from clients and follow up to ensure compliance with SLA’s and KPI’s
• Reporting landscaping activities to the Director of FM.
• Carry out the agreed governance and reporting models in a timely manner
• Ensure appropriate action is considered for pest/diseases, nutrient deficiency or any biological problems regarding soil and plantations
• Maintains knowledge of safety policies and procedures regarding the proper tools/equipment for land preparation and cultivation such as trimming, cutting, Verti-cutting, fertilizing and removal of weeds.
• Work in coordination with the Projects team for new landscaping project execution
• Sustainability: optimize water usage, maintain soil quality, and plant health.
• Coordinate procurement of agricultural materials, fertilizers, and equipment.

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in horticulture, landscaping or agriculture.
• UAE Driver’s license.
• Have at least 10 years’ experience in landscaping practices and procedures, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience at managerial level in Middle East with evidence of significant improvements in projects.
• Have knowledge of landscaping and agriculture practices on VIP estates, communities, and cities with vast experience across varieties of planting and landscapes.
• Have experience with irrigation system projects, installation and maintenance.
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills to be able to produce reports and scope of works.
