The Molecular Biology & Genomics Centre is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join its team in Dubai.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory testing, sample processing, and molecular biology procedures.
- Handle and maintain clinical and biological samples in accordance with SOPs and safety requirements.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; keep accurate test, documentation, and quality-control records.
- Follow laboratory quality, biosafety, and accreditation requirements.
- Support validation, verification, and implementation of laboratory methods.
- Monitor reagents, consumables, and inventory; report technical issues and non-conformities.
- Support daily laboratory operations and assigned projects.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Valid DHA license or eligibility as a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical, molecular, diagnostic, or research laboratory.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, sample handling, molecular biology, and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment and follow SOP, quality, and safety requirements.
- Good documentation, communication, and organizational skills; able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred experience
- Experience with PCR/qPCR, nucleic acid extraction, molecular biology techniques, laboratory quality systems, or ISO-accredited laboratories is an advantage.
