L2 Network Engineer - Malaysia

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network infrastructure.
• Resolve escalated routing, switching, VLAN, VPN, IP connectivity, and performance incidents; configure OSPF, BGP, and STP technologies.
• Support firewalls, secure remote access, network segmentation, installations, upgrades, migrations, configuration changes, and commissioning.
• Monitor performance, availability, and capacity; perform root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
• Support security improvements, configuration backups, maintenance, and documentation of network diagrams, configurations, reports, and changes.
• Coordinate with L1 support, senior engineers, vendors, and project stakeholders; participate in planned maintenance and critical changes.

Required qualifications and skills

• CCNP certification and 4–7 years of relevant network engineering experience.
• Previous UAE work experience in enterprise networking, telecommunications, IT services, or system integration.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with enterprise networking equipment; Cisco or equivalent platforms are preferred.
• Practical experience with network monitoring, incident management, and change management procedures.
• Exposure to enterprise firewalls, SD-WAN, network security, and high-availability solutions is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Malaysia for the full three-year contract, subject to applicable work authorization.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 2,300–11,000 per month.
