Key Account Manager, Mining

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned territory and customer accounts; develop relationships through regular on-site visits.
• Align parts and service budgets with customer needs and monitor sales objectives.
• Support branch requests involving service asset management, CSA contracts, parts planning, and product solutions.
• Prospect for mining customers and provide quotes, warranty details, and product information.
• Coordinate quarterly mine-site partnership meetings and partner with engineering firms on expansion projects.
• Support cost-reduction projects and promote Toromont Cat product lines with supplier and manufacturer representatives.
• Support execution of Caterpillar and Toromont Cat partnership agreements and follow safety policies.

Candidate requirements

• Post-secondary education; mining, mechanical, or geological engineering is preferred.
• At least three years of mining or mineral industry experience.
• Knowledge of underground and surface mining equipment and operating processes; related WHMIS and Common Core training.
• Technical knowledge of mining processes or heavy mobile equipment.
• Strong customer partnership, negotiation, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy, business and financial acumen, and ability to work to deadlines and changing priorities.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Canada; valid driver's licence and clean driver's abstract.
• Bilingual English and French is preferred.

Pay and employment

• Pay type is full time, permanent.
• Target compensation includes commissions and other variable pay and reflects expected annual earnings; additional performance-based bonuses or other elements may apply.

Travel and work locations

• Regular on-site customer visits and extensive travel throughout Canada are part of the role.
• Opportunities are available across multiple locations in Eastern Canada.
