Kitchen supervision and food service
- Supervise and coordinate cooks and other kitchen workers.
- Determine food presentation and create decorative displays; ensure portions, arrangement, and garnish are appropriate.
- Monitor preparation quantities and inform food-and-beverage staff about specials and unavailable menu items.
- Prepare special meals or substitutes and assist kitchen staff with tasks and supplies.
Kitchen operations and quality
- Monitor kitchen supplies and food stock.
- Maintain food-safety and food-product logs.
- Check food quality and report products that do not meet specifications.
Team and workplace duties
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Follow company and safety policies, report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training.
- Maintain professional appearance, protect company assets and confidential information, address service needs, and support team and quality goals.
Preferred qualifications
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
- Four to six years of related work experience is preferred.
- At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
- No license or certification is listed.
