Junior Printer

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Flexo and screen-printing equipment.
• Load printing plates, adjust ink supply, and position paper feed.
• Monitor production and adjust equipment to maintain smooth operation.
• Inspect printed materials for quality, accuracy, and client specification compliance.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and parts replacement.
• Troubleshoot paper jams, ink smudges, and other printing malfunctions.
• Keep records of quantities, materials used, and production issues.
• Maintain machine housekeeping and follow printing safety requirements.
• Improve production processes to reduce waste, scrap, defects, and costs.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in printing technology is required.
• At least one year of experience on a Flexo printing machine such as Gallus, Mark Andy, or Omet.
• Knowledge of Flexo machine operation, repair, inks, materials, and printing techniques.
• Ability to interpret printing specifications, job orders, and layout designs.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with helpers in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to train newly joined workers and guide their activities.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends according to production schedules.

Functional Skills

• Ink adjustment and colour matching to meet required print results.
• Knowledge of colour separation, ink mixing, and plate alignment.
• Strong error detection, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet or exceed performance standards and support continuous improvement.

Work Setting

• The role is based in Dubai and involves operating physical printing equipment in a production environment.
