The Junior Planning Engineer supports the project planning function by assisting in schedule development, progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination with site teams.
The role is ideal for early‑career engineers who want to build strong planning and project controls skills within the UAE’s construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and updating project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project scope, contract requirements, and baseline plans.
- Collect daily and weekly progress data from site teams and update activity status, quantities, and productivity rates.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S‑curves, and look‑ahead schedules for internal and client review.
- Work closely with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to gather accurate information and highlight schedule risks.
- Assist in preparing baseline schedules, resource histograms, and cash‑flow projections.
- Support senior planners in identifying delays, preparing narratives, and maintaining delay logs.
- Maintain planning files, logs, and schedule versions in accordance with project and ISO standards.
- Ensure planning activities consider safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience in Primavera P6 Knowledge, MS Office Skills, Construction Knowledge
- Good Communication Skills and ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision‑making.
- 1–3 years experience in planning or site engineering within the UAE construction market.
- Familiarity with UAE contract standards (FIDIC, government authorities, consultant requirements).
- Experience preparing progress reports, look‑ahead schedules, or resource histograms.
