Qualifications and skills
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- At least 3 years of accounting, financial analysis, or financial reporting experience is required.
- Required skills include analytical problem-solving, accuracy, attention to detail, intermediate Excel, organization, deadline management, clear financial communication, and collaboration.
- CPA enrollment or intention to pursue the designation is preferred.
- Meditech experience, recent healthcare/community care/not-for-profit experience, and knowledge of PSAS and OHRS are preferred.
Principal duties
- Prepare, analyze, and post monthly journal entries, including statistical data; complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances and trends.
- Prepare annual audit working papers and coordinate external auditor information requests.
- Assist with weekly vendor payments and resolve accounts payable discrepancies with Mohawk Medbuy.
- Prepare the annual Charity Information Return and post and review accounts payable batches daily.
- Perform Foundation bookkeeping, including monthly bank reconciliations.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement and Finance process improvement initiatives; perform other related duties as assigned.
