Required qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least three years of accounting, financial analysis, or financial reporting experience.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency, including data analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Organizational ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.

Preferred qualifications

• Enrollment in or intention to pursue a CPA designation is preferred.
• Meditech experience and recent healthcare, community care, or not-for-profit experience are preferred.
• Knowledge of Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards and Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards is preferred.

Principal duties

• Prepare, analyze, and post monthly journal entries, including statistical data.
• Complete monthly balance-sheet reconciliations; investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual trends.
• Prepare annual audit working papers and coordinate external auditor information requests.
• Assist with weekly vendor payments and resolve accounts-payable discrepancies with Mohawk Medbuy.
• Prepare the annual Charity Information Return and review daily accounts-payable batches.
• Perform Foundation bookkeeping, including monthly bank reconciliations.
• Participate in hospital quality-improvement and Finance process-improvement initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
