Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least three years of accounting, financial analysis, or financial reporting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Intermediate Excel proficiency, including data analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ability to organize competing priorities, meet deadlines, communicate financial information clearly, and collaborate with partners.
- CPA enrollment or intention to pursue the designation is preferred.
- Meditech, healthcare/community care/not-for-profit experience, and PSAS/OHRS knowledge are preferred.
Principal duties
- Prepare, analyze, and post monthly journal entries, including statistical data.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual trends.
- Prepare annual audit working papers and coordinate external auditor information requests.
- Assist with weekly vendor payments and resolve accounts payable discrepancies with the service organization.
- Prepare the annual Charity Information Return.
- Post and review accounts payable batches daily for accuracy and completeness.
- Complete Foundation bookkeeping and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement and Finance process improvement initiatives.
