Junior Estimation Engineer (Prefab Structures)

Job Summary

Estimation & Costing

• Review client inquiries, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and material calculations for prefab and modular building projects.
• Assist in preparing project cost estimates, budgets, and commercial proposals.
• Calculate material, labor, transportation, installation, and subcontractor costs.
• Maintain updated cost databases and standard pricing schedules.
• Prepare quotations based on company standards and project requirements.

Tender & Proposal Support

• Assist in the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations.
• Compare supplier quotations and prepare cost comparison sheets.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and tender specifications.

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with engineering, production, procurement, and sales departments for project costing.
• Maintain records of estimates, quotations, tender submissions, and project cost data.
• Support project handover activities by providing approved cost breakdowns.
• Prepare estimation reports and management summaries when required.

Technical Support

• Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings related to prefab projects.
• Assist in value engineering exercises to optimize project costs.
• Support senior estimators in project planning and budgeting activities.
• Stay updated on material prices, market trends, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in estimation, quantity surveying, or technical sales support, preferably in prefab, modular construction, steel structures, or portable cabins.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge may be considered.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of prefabricated buildings, modular structures, and construction materials.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and quantity take-off methods.
• Good analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple quotations simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in prefab buildings, portable cabins, site offices, labor camps, or modular construction projects.
• Knowledge of UAE construction market rates and suppliers.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and estimation software.
