Overview

We are looking for a Junior Data Analyst to support our commercial research and counterparty analysis.

In this role, you will help our advisory team evaluate complex investments and joint venture proposals.

Gulf Associates works with corporate leaders, sovereign entities, and family groups to support high-stakes decisions with clear evidence.

We do not deal in generic strategy reports; instead, we focus on ground reality and commercial logic.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a hybrid arrangement, requiring a mix of remote work and regular collaboration at our team workspace.

What you will do

  • Collect and organize operational and financial data related to prospective joint ventures and investment counterparties.
  • Review public filings, regulatory announcements, and registry entries to trace asset ownership and corporate structures.
  • Identify patterns and irregularities in data sets to help our senior partners assess genuine market risks.
  • Help prepare clear, evidence-based briefings and analytical memos used directly by clients during negotiations.
  • Maintain and update internal databases of market behaviors, tracking how competitors respond to regulatory shifts.
  • Translate complex quantitative data into straightforward tables and charts that tell a clear, factual story.
  • Collaborate with senior associates to test the feasibility of different scenario models based on current market dynamics.
  • What you bring
  • A strong foundation in data retrieval and structured analysis, with a detail-oriented mindset that spots inconsistencies quickly.
  • Analytical curiosity and an interest in understanding how businesses operate, earn profit, and handle regulatory challenges.
  • The ability to explain your methodology clearly in writing, keeping explanations brief, direct, and factual.
  • Practical familiarity with data analysis tools, including advanced spreadsheets and database systems.
  • A disciplined approach to research, showing persistence when looking for verifiable facts rather than easy answers.
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple small research tasks without losing track of deadlines.
  • An academic background in economics, finance, statistics, or a related field characterized by logical, quantitative thinking.
  • What we offer
  • A highly developmental entry-level position with attractive and competitive pay.
  • Direct exposure to senior partners who stay involved in projects from initial research to final negotiations.
  • A hybrid working schedule that blends the focus of working from home with real-time collaboration with the team.
  • Hands-on experience working on actual transactions, sovereign-backed investments, and market entries.

Working at Gulf Associates

Working here means choosing substance over style.

We are a specialized, senior-led firm that values commercial judgment over long-winded consulting reports.

Our team works directly on outcomes that lead to signed agreements or operational launches, meaning every piece of analysis you perform has immediate utility.

We avoid corporate hierarchies and lengthy internal meetings, favoring straightforward conversations and direct feedback.

Everyone on our team is expected to think critically, speak honestly, and focus on delivering accurate answers that our clients can act on.
