The accountant analyzes financial data, prepares and maintains financial records, and produces reports such as balance sheets and income statements.
The role also involves payables and receivables, budgets, financial compliance, and audit support.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly and annual closings.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting records.
- Reconcile bank statements and other accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform accounting and cost-control activities.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable and process invoices and payments on time.
- Assist with annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and information.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial laws and regulations.
- Monitor transactions for potential errors or fraud.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors or management.
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of accountant or similar-role experience; 3 years in Accounts & Finance is specified as required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, including advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
