The accountant analyzes financial data, prepares and maintains financial records, and creates reports such as balance sheets and income statements.
The role includes accounts payable and receivable, budgets, compliance, and audit support.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly and annual closings.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting records.
- Reconcile bank statements and other accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform accounting and cost control work.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable and process invoices and payments on time.
- Assist with annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support internal and external audits with documentation and information.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial laws and regulations.
- Monitor transactions for potential errors or fraud.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and management.
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience as an accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to commute to or relocate to Doha before starting work.
Work arrangement
- Work is in person in Doha.
