Role Overview
The Jr. Product Design Engineer reports to the Engineering Technical Director and expands expertise in CableBuilder and its integration with SAP.
The position adds capacity for increasing cable design volumes and supports knowledge transfer and risk mitigation for CableBuilder and SAP skills.
The main goal is to manage part of the cable design workload and reach high competency in the relevant systems within one year.

The Jr. Product Design Engineer reports to the Engineering Technical Director and expands expertise in CableBuilder and its integration with SAP.

The main goal is to manage part of the cable design workload and reach high competency in the relevant systems within one year.
Responsibilities
- Translate customer, internal, and standard cable specifications into accurate CableBuilder designs and SAP bills of materials.
- Develop expertise in CableBuilder and its connection to SAP; design and modify cables to industry standards.
- Maintain and improve SAP part master data for parts, excluding pricing.
- Work with manufacturing teams on manufacturing process changes and participate in industry standards committees as needed.
- Supervise and perform cable testing as required by manufacturing sites.
- Manage product development or cost-redesign projects; some travel may be necessary.
- Support Sales and Manufacturing with processing and quality issues.
Requirements
- P.Eng and an engineering degree are preferred.
- Experience in the wire and cable industry with processing and product standards knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate customer, sales, and manufacturing groups.
- Detail-oriented documentation skills.
- Expected to attain high competency in CableBuilder and SAP within one year.
Compensation
- Salary range is $80,000 to $90,000 per annum.
