Role overview

Responsibilities

• Apply role-related safety rules; inspect wooden cable drums and identify damage or repair needs.
• Repair, maintain, and modify wooden drums to operational and quality requirements; carry out general carpentry work in the factory and company facilities.
• Use tools, machinery, and equipment safely; ensure completed work meets quality and safety standards.
• Keep tools, equipment, and the work area clean, safe, and orderly; promptly report incidents, unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or operational concerns.
• Minimize material waste and use resources responsibly; attend SQDCE meetings and contribute to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement discussions.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Candidate requirements

• Carpentry vocational training or certification is preferred; previous carpenter experience is sought, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or maintenance settings.
• Experience repairing wooden cable drums is an advantage.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery; basic workplace health and safety knowledge.
• Ability to understand work instructions, measurements, and basic technical drawings, with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Physical capability to safely perform manual tasks; dependable and disciplined, able to work independently or with a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts when required; basic English communication skills are preferred.
