Jr. Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Assist with site supervision and execution of mechanical MEP works and installation of pumps, valves, piping, and equipment.
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements; coordinate with supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, suppliers, and other disciplines.
• Inspect and monitor works for compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover.
• Prepare progress reports, inspection requests, material documents, and project records; verify material quantities and requirements.
• Identify site issues and coordinate solutions with senior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, quality requirements, and HSE procedures.
• Assist with as-built drawings, technical reports, and O&M documentation; coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities when required.
• Perform other engineering duties assigned by the Project Manager or Senior Engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in MEP, mechanical construction, maintenance, or pumping station projects.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specifications, and BOQs; basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Good technical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work at project sites and travel within Abu Dhabi/UAE when required.

Preferred experience and knowledge

• Knowledge of pumps, piping, valves, HVAC, and mechanical equipment is an advantage.
• UAE/GCC project experience is an advantage.
• Exposure to pumping stations, sewage/stormwater, irrigation/potable water systems, MEP installation and maintenance, testing and commissioning, or infrastructure projects is preferred.

Work location

• Work location is in person; project-site work and travel within Abu Dhabi/UAE may be required.
