Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior HSE Officer to join our team in Qatar.

This role involves supporting the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across camp and site operations, ensuring full compliance with company policies and local regulations.

The ideal candidate will assist in daily inspections of work areas, camps, and communal facilities to maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety.

The role also includes reporting and following up on non-compliance issues, supporting incident reporting, assisting in safety audits, participating in toolbox talks, and promoting a strong safety culture among employees and contractors.

The candidate should be familiar with field/site environments, comfortable with regular outdoor inspections, and capable of working under supervision to meet HSE objectives within set timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring HSE policies across camps, sites, and operational areas
  • Conduct daily inspections of camps, communal facilities, and work areas to ensure hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained
  • Identify, report, and follow up on unsafe conditions, hazards, and non-compliance issues
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE procedures and local regulatory requirements in Qatar
  • Assist with incident reporting, documentation, and preliminary investigations under supervision
  • Support safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Deliver toolbox talks and basic safety awareness sessions
  • Monitor housekeeping standards and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and camp management to ensure timely closure of HSE observations
  • Promote a strong safety culture among employees and contractors
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, and checklists
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and safety briefings

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in an HSE role
  • HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) certification
  • SAMTRAC certification (preferred)
  • Incident Investigator certification/training
  • Valid Qatari Light Vehicle Driving License (mandatory)
  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, waste management, construction, or camp environments is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of HSE procedures, risk assessment, and workplace safety practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and commitment to safety

Knowledge & Competencies

  • HSE regulations, standards, and best practices
  • ISO Management Systems (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001)
  • Workplace inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring
  • Emergency preparedness and response procedures
  • Permit-to-work systems and risk control measures
  • Camp and facility management, housekeeping, and hygiene standards
  • Safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs

Language Requirements

  • English (Fluent)
  • Hindi/Urdu (Fluent)
  • Arabic (Advantageous)

Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role within Qatar
