SINA Investment Group is hiring a transport manager to manage and operate heavy-truck fleets in the UAE.
The role prioritizes direct experience managing transport businesses for construction and quarry materials rather than light transport or delivery.
Experience and qualifications
- At least seven years of road-transport experience, including at least three years in a management position.
- Practical experience managing and operating heavy trucks and trailers; SCANIA experience is preferred.
- Experience with construction materials, quarry materials, sand, aggregates, cement, and other bulk materials.
- Knowledge of routes between UAE emirates, heavy-truck routes, traffic restrictions, and permits.
- Experience managing drivers and supervisors, organizing daily trips, and allocating trucks.
- Ability to prepare operating plans, improve fleet utilization, and reduce empty trips.
- Experience monitoring truck maintenance and reducing breakdowns and downtime.
- Ability to calculate transport costs and trip prices and analyze diesel use and operating expenses.
- Experience managing transport contracts and negotiating with customers, suppliers, and external transport companies.
- Experience preparing operational reports and analyzing KPIs using Excel and GPS systems.
- Knowledge of UAE road-transport laws and requirements of relevant authorities.
- A valid UAE driving license is preferred.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all daily transport and operating activities.
- Develop plans to increase productivity and improve fleet profitability.
- Monitor truck and driver performance and adherence to loading and unloading schedules.
- Monitor operating costs and reduce fuel consumption and maintenance expenses.
- Develop customer relationships and secure new transport contracts.
- Report regularly to senior management on revenue, expenses, profit, and operating efficiency.
