Provides 24/7/365 technical support for RBC's global HPE NonStop environments as part of an operations environment covering mainframe operations, networks, and distributed systems.
Supports service delivery to RBC business clients and service partners, with emphasis on operational excellence and automation.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous technical support and client service.
- Manage faults and incidents, escalate problems, and support change management.
- Run and monitor batches.
- Recommend process improvements and automate manual tasks, message suppression, and toil reduction.
Must-have qualifications
- Demonstrated written, oral, and presentation communication skills, including assessing stakeholder and project communication needs.
- Strong understanding of technology and/or the financial services industry.
- Learn new tools and systems quickly, apply new knowledge, and transfer knowledge to others.
- Manage expectations with team members, management, and clients and deliver on them.
- Strong knowledge of HPE NonStop (Tandem), IBM iSeries, NSK technologies and operating systems, Unix/AIX/Linux, networks, distributed systems, and console-based technologies.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, Moogsoft, ITIL Foundation, and mainframe tools including TSO/ISPF, VSAM, Endevor, File Aid, Xpediter, and SPUFI.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large publicly traded corporation.
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers.
- Strategic thinking and strong interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.
