IT Infrastructure Specialist / IT Engineer

About This Role

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Mid-Level IT Infrastructure Specialist to support our IT operations. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in server management and infrastructure operations within regulated, transaction-heavy environments.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure supporting core applications.

· Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of servers, OS, and middleware.

· Monitor infrastructure proactively to prevent downtime and ensure SLA compliance.

· Support and manage backup, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity plans for mission-critical systems.

· Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity/access management systems.

· Collaborate with application teams to ensure infrastructure readiness.

· Maintain secure environments in compliance with UAE data protection regulations and insurance industry standards.

· Oversee storage systems (SAN/NAS) and data lifecycle management.

· Coordinate with vendors for system upgrades, support, and troubleshooting.

· Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and incident logs.

· Apply the latest firewall configuration standards and best practices to protect against emerging threats

· Monitor firewall performance, logs, and security alerts; respond to incidents and vulnerabilities in a timely manner

· Perform regular firewall audits, rule reviews, and optimization to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

· 5–8 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, preferably in insurance, TPA, or financial services environments.

· Strong experience in server management.

· Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls).

· Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.

· Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.

· Relevant certifications in Microsoft, Cisco etc.

Key Skills & Competencies:

· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in high-volume transaction systems.

· Ability to manage critical systems with minimal downtime.

· Good understanding of data sensitivity in insurance operations.

· Effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams.

· High attention to detail and documentation discipline.

· Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
