Role overview

Manage and streamline medical insurance operations at a medical center.

The role requires hands-on experience in a UAE hospital or medical center and knowledge of health authority regulations, medical coding, claims, prior authorizations, and insurance empanelments.

Prior authorizations and approvals

  • Review medical records, diagnostic reports, and doctors’ notes and submit timely prior-authorization requests through insurance portals.
  • Follow up with insurers on pending approvals, requests for additional information, or medical peer reviews.
  • Communicate approval statuses to clinical teams, patient relations desks, and patients.

Medical coding and claims

  • Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and local regulatory codes to patient files and encounters.
  • Prepare, audit, and batch electronic claims for submission through e-Claim platforms.
  • Verify eligibility, coverage networks, co-payments, deductibles, and pre-existing condition terms before consultations or procedures.

Rejections and resubmissions

  • Analyze claim rejection codes, identify root causes, and prepare clinical documentation for appeals.
  • Process resubmissions and reconciliation within contractual timelines to minimize financial write-offs.
  • Coordinate with treating physicians to obtain documentation needed for claim reevaluations.

Empanelments and network management

  • Assist with establishing, renewing, and updating provider contracts and insurance empanelments.
  • Maintain a directory of contracted insurers, network tiers, and policy guidelines.
  • Periodically review tariff structures, discount schedules, and claim settlement agreements.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • At least three years of direct UAE experience as an Insurance Coordinator in a polyclinic, medical center, or hospital.
  • Proficiency with standard UAE insurance platforms and clearinghouses; expert command of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
  • Hands-on experience with HIS/EMR and deep familiarity with UAE health authority guidelines and major TPA protocols.
  • Fluent in English. Medical Coding certification (AAPC/AHIMA) and Arabic proficiency are strong advantages.

Pay

  • AED 2,500–3,500 per month.

Work location

  • Position is in person in Sharjah.
