Installation Mechatronics Engineer

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Design mechatronic systems and technical schematics while overseeing physical deployment of hardware and infrastructure.
• Manage cable installation, technical equipment rigging, and secure mounting of mechanical and electronic components.
• Create engineering schematics and program embedded controls for control systems and kinetic installations.
• Integrate mechanical structures, actuators, and sensors for performance and long-term site reliability.
• Oversee rack assembly, power distribution, and signal routing.
• Coordinate with fabrication partners, control system suppliers, and creative agencies.
• Comply with engineering standards, electrical codes, and live event safety regulations.

Required skills and experience

• Expertise in structured cabling, signal and power management, rack assembly, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Hands-on hardware installation, mounting, and rigging experience.
• Advanced CAD design and technical drawing, such as AutoCAD or Fusion 360.
• Embedded control programming using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or ESP32.
• Integration of DMX, Art-Net, and OSC protocols.
• Strong project management, leadership, communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration abilities.
• Willingness to travel for installations, testing, and event support.

Preferred qualifications

• Ability to bridge field installation work with advanced mechatronics design, coding, and technical documentation.
• Experience with live-event robotics or scenic automation.
• Familiarity with motion tracking, sensors, and real-time data processing.
• Knowledge of Python, C/C++, or LabVIEW for control and data analysis.
• Experience with creative technology teams or studios.
• Background in structural analysis and dynamic load simulation.
• UAE driver's license and personal road vehicle are considered major assets.
