Infrastructure Engineer (OpenShift / VMware)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Administer and support OpenShift clusters, deployments, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Manage VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual machines, and virtualization infrastructure.
• Administer Linux and Windows Server, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute infrastructure and workload migrations across virtualized and containerized environments.
• Support infrastructure implementation, upgrades, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Prepare, review, and execute Production Change Requests with documentation, approvals, implementation plans, and rollback procedures.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with internal teams, enterprise stakeholders, and external technology vendors.
• Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, operational procedures, and migration plans.

Candidate requirements

• 5–7 years of relevant infrastructure engineering or administration experience.
• Hands-on Red Hat OpenShift experience and strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Practical Linux and Microsoft Windows Server administration experience.
• Proven infrastructure and workload migration experience, including enterprise implementation work.
• Production change management experience, including Change Request preparation and execution.
• Able to independently manage technical implementation, migrations, and production changes.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor coordination, communication, and documentation skills.

Screening criteria and preference

• Monitoring, service desk, or ticket handling experience alone, without hands-on engineering, implementation, and migration experience, is not considered suitable.
• End-to-end ownership of infrastructure implementation and migration activities is preferred.
