A dental center seeks a qualified Dental Assistant with a valid DOH (HAAD) license to support infection prevention and control activities across its dental clinics.
The role supports patient safety and compliance with applicable DOH requirements.
Infection prevention and control
- Support implementation and monitoring of the clinic IPC program; conduct regular infection control rounds, audits, and inspections.
- Monitor hand hygiene, PPE use, standard precautions, and environmental cleaning.
- Monitor instrument cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and CSSD documentation; ensure proper handling, storage, and transport of contaminated and sterile instruments.
- Monitor dental treatment areas, dental unit waterlines where applicable, and clinical waste management.
- Assist with IPC training, staff awareness, and competency assessments.
Records and compliance
- Report IPC incidents, hazards, and non-compliances; support investigations and corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain IPC checklists, audit records, sterilization logs, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with DOH inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance; coordinate with Quality and clinical teams to address identified gaps.
Qualifications and requirements
- A valid DOH (HAAD) Dental Assistant license is required.
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic is required.
- Knowledge of infection control, sterilization, CSSD procedures, hand hygiene, PPE, and clinical waste management is required.
- Experience in infection control audits, documentation, or training is an advantage.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills; attention to detail; and commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
