Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Lead system design through detailed design, tender documentation and construction support.
• Develop system strategies, plant and space requirements, design principles and sketches.
• Prepare reports, calculations, specifications, cost estimates and tender documents.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and client requirements; coordinate with other design disciplines.
• Supervise drawings and technical documentation and propose cost-effective, value-engineered solutions.
• Attend site meetings, resolve construction and coordination issues, and support feasibility studies, estimates and site acceptance documentation.

Candidate specification

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering from an accredited university.
• Recognised professional-institution membership or progress toward membership.
• Strong expertise and experience across ICT, ELV and security systems design and delivery.
• Hands-on experience with BIM and digital design tools; Autodesk Revit familiarity is advantageous.

Systems experience

• Relevant systems include structured cabling, active networks, IPTV, IP telephony and wireless access points.
• Experience may include video surveillance, access control, intercom, two-way radio or TETRA.
• Other listed systems include BMS, PAVA, audio-visual and smart building systems.

Skills and competencies

• Manage workloads across multiple projects and teams and build effective stakeholder relationships.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with geographically and culturally diverse teams and demonstrate integrity, diligence and accountability.
