Position summary
The HVAC Technician installs, operates, inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs hotel heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
The role aims to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable system operation at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara.
Maintenance and repairs
- Inspect HVAC and refrigeration equipment daily and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair split units, FCUs, AHUs, chillers, pumps, and ventilation systems.
- Monitor hotel temperature and humidity; check refrigerant levels, pressures, compressors, motors, filters, belts, coils, and other components.
- Repair refrigerant leaks and other system faults; clean filters, coils, drain pans, ducts, and related components.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns, especially in guest rooms and critical hotel areas.
- Check and maintain refrigerators, freezers, and cold rooms where applicable.
- Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new HVAC equipment.
Records, coordination, and workplace safety
- Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance; maintain and safely store tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Coordinate with Engineering colleagues and other departments to minimize disruption to hotel operations.
- Report major faults, recurring issues, and spare-part needs to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
- Follow hotel safety, environmental, and energy-conservation procedures; handle, store, and dispose of refrigerants and technical materials according to applicable regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist Engineering colleagues with general maintenance when required.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering management.
