Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Read and interpret BOQ and specifications.
- Prepare and participate in design reviews.
- Design smaller air-conditioning systems, modifications to existing systems, review plans and specifications for contracted work.
- Maintain a professional rapport with engineers, HVAC consultants, contractors and end clients.
- Perform Heat load calculation for Air Conditioning system.
- Involves selection of equipment (Split AC, Package A/C, Chiller, AHU, FCU, Ventilation fan, Pumps, etc.), design of ducting, design of chilled water piping, selection of pumps, valves, etc.
- Reviewing vendor data sheets for approval/comments prior submitting to the client.
- Carry out design in-consideration with various heat generating / transmitting / equipment /material with the aid of cooling Load Estimation.
- Design of Air-conditioning DX system and chilled water system.
- Pipe design and pipe sizing, static pressure calculations & selection of grilles & diffusers.
- Duct design & duct sizing in accordance with ISO standards, EU regulations, SMACNA guide and DW144 for ductwork specification & fabrication procedures.
- Independent handling of HVAC system from concept to commissioning.
- Complete job execution at site with the support of site supervisors and technician to ensure the equipment installation as per approved drawings as part of Mechanical completion.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
- Review MEP drawings & identify HAVC equipment, customer specific requirements and customization opportunities.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established. Thorough knowledge of Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning systems
- Considerable knowledge of the design and operation of large HVAC equipment (Cooling Plants, Heat Exchangers, ETS, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, CWPs etc.)
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and prescribe repair procedures
- Review and critique plans and specifications for HVAC and environmental control systems
- Coordinate skills to schedule work so facility is not interrupted; maintain records of time and materials used on all jobs.
- Diagnose HVAC problems; and to understand and work from blueprints, schematics and other construction drawings
- Excellent communication skills to communicate with client representatives (being multi-lingual will be an advantage)
- Maintain budget, records and files, and prepares reports
- Supervise major overhaul or installation of environmental control systems to assure that work is carried out according to plans and specifications
- Conduct a quality check of work in progress or upon completion to assure acceptability
- Oversee repair and replacement of faulty equipment, wiring and controls, and other components related to the HVAC systems
- Review the work of contractors for adherence to plans and specifications and for quality assurance
- Train staff in the proper use of tools, and proper work procedure.
- Estimate and orders needed equipment and supplies.
- Design modifications to existing systems to achieve efficient operation Remove and replace damage motor
- Provide technical assistance to technicians when requested.
- Recommend people to be hired, disciplined, discharged, or promoted.
- Recommend special work schedules, overtime or extension of unit downtime to meet unusual or emergency situations

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors of Engineering.
- 05+ years’ experience in technical maintenance with exposure to Facilities Management especially in the areas of Mechanical Engineering and maintenance of Airports, Retail, & industrials sections
Job Specific Skills
- Knowledge of safe work methods and practices
- Knowledge of materials used in HVAC installation, maintenance and repair work
- Knowledge of international & local industry specific codes
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in HVAC installation, maintenance and repair work
