Job Description

The Hostess is the welcoming face of the dining experience, creating a gracious and memorable first impression for every guest.

With warmth, elegance, and genuine hospitality, the role ensures seamless guest seating, attentive coordination, and personalized engagement throughout the dining journey.

The Hostess upholds the exceptional service standards synonymous with Raffles and Fairmont, managing reservations and guest flow with professionalism, poise, and attention to detail.

Working collaboratively with the restaurant and culinary teams, the role contributes to a refined and elevated dining atmosphere that exceeds guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and personalized attention in line with Raffles and Fairmont luxury service standards
  • Manage restaurant reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow efficiently and accurately
  • Escort guests to their tables while providing engaging and attentive service throughout the arrival experience
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of restaurant offerings, operating hours, promotions, and special events
  • Coordinate closely with restaurant and culinary teams to ensure smooth and seamless dining operations
  • Anticipate guest preferences and respond promptly to inquiries, requests, and special occasions
  • Handle guest feedback and waiting lists professionally, ensuring a positive and memorable experience
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the hostess stand and reception area
  • Support daily administrative tasks, including reservation management systems and guest communication
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, grooming, and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

  • What will you bring to this role?
  • Previous experience in a Hostess, Guest Relations, or Food & Beverage role, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a warm and engaging personality
  • Professional presentation and excellent guest service etiquette
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage reservations, guest flow, and special requests with attention to detail and composure
  • Familiarity with reservation management systems and basic computer applications preferred
  • Passion for creating memorable guest experiences and delivering personalized service
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are considered an advantage
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and contribute to operational excellence
